HUndreds of area voters might have registration cancelled

WATCH OUT, anyone in Travis or Williamson county who has decided to move to another county. Some of you ready voters will be suprised on Election day because you are not registered to vote in the county you currently live in. Marty Toohay writes in statesman.com that because of a new registration law, in Texas, designed to prevent fraud and votes cast in different counties, caused confusion amoung counties and state officials. This resulted in letters reminding voters that they are registered to vote in the county they had recently moved from. Ironic isn't it, the counties send letters to voter new homes reminding them they are still registered to vote in only that county; insead of transfering their reistetration to the county they live in know. People are being cancelled because the database for registration wasn't updated with residents that have come back to Travis and Williamson county.
